Many have left. Some have not, did not, can not, will not. Others have come home from work to find gas stations and bridges closed.

We have a tradition here in Florida that occurs at irregular intervals. It`s called Evacuate For The (Holiday) Weekend.

Instead of Backyard Bar-B-Q`s we load up three day`s supplies of food and water, our human and animal children, our important papers, pillows and blankets and then we set forth on the highway hoping we can find a place for the night. This is also a time for families to get together where the one that lives farthest from projected landfall lives.

Seriously, folks, heed the need to evacuate and get out of there. The most precious thing you own is your life and the lives of your family, human and otherwise.
